Dr. Sasha Nuñez, PT, DPT, CMPT is a licensed physical therapist in Florida and Virginia with a strong background in movement science and rehabilitation. Dr. Nuñez earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from Florida State University in 2011 and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Nuñez is L2 certified to treat scoliosis via the Schroth based Rigo-concept from The Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS). She is also a certified manual physical therapist through the Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, a certified Pilates instructor for rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates, dry needling certified and LSVT BIG certified to treat Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological disorders.
A former dancer turned physical therapist, Dr. Nuñez brings a unique perspective to patient care. With a diverse background across multiple clinical settings, she has extensive experience treating a wide range of conditions. Her professional journey includes working alongside Dr. Jace Provo, former Chief Medical Director of the NBA, as well as providing care in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient physical therapy settings. She is dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based treatment to optimize functional outcomes and enhance quality of life.
Originally from Miami, Florida, she trained extensively in ballet and modern dance at New World School of the Arts, where she earned the Dean’s Award of Distinction. After sustaining a dance-related back injury, she underwent physical therapy and a Pilates-based rehabilitation program. Her firsthand experience as a patient informs her compassionate, individualized approach to care, ensuring that each session is tailored to meet her patients’ unique goals. In addition to her clinical practice, she has helped both athletes and non-athletes enhance their movement and strength through personalized training and group instruction in Pilates, dance, and fitness.
