Sasha is a physical therapist licensed to practice in the states of Florida and Virginia.
She is originally from Miami, Florida where she trained rigorously in ballet and modern dance at New World School of the Arts and went on to earn the Dean's award of distinction. During this time, she sustained a dance related back injury and was treated with both physical therapy and a Pilates based rehab program. She has a deep love for the complexity of movement that is required of athletes and dancers as well as a love for restorative movement that is required for rehabilitation. She also understands what it means to be a patient. She strives to provide individualized care and work towards achieving each patient's goal with one-on-one sessions.
She received her B.S. in Exercise Science from Florida State University and later received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami. While in graduate school, she continued to teach dance and Pilates. During this time she became a certified Pilates instructor for rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates Physical Therapy and became nationally certified through the Pilates Method Alliance. In 2015, she became a certified manual physical therapist through Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and she became fully certified in dry needling in 2018 through Kinetacore. She is currently L2 certified through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School to treat scoliosis. She is also LSVT BIG certified to treat Parkinson's Disease and other varying neurological disorders.
During her career, she has treated patients in outpatient, inpatient rehab (spinal cord injuries) and acute care physical therapy. She has gained valuable experience along the way and has even had the opportunity to work for Dr. Jace Provo who at the time was Senior Vice President of medical affairs for the NBA. She has helped athletes/dancers and non-athletes train and has taught many group classes in Pilates, dance and fitness throughout her career.
She cares deeply for all her patients and uses all her experiences to provide comprehensive treatments for a variety of patient populations and diagnoses including, but not limited to orthopedic injuries, scoliosis, concussions, neurological disorders and vestibular disorders.
